Advising Corner

For Students at University of Arizona South

“Lions and Tigers and Bears…Oh My!”

As we go full speed into the new semester, it is easy to forget some very basic tools that will aid you in avoiding the beasts that get in the way on the road to a successful completion of your degree.

·         Check your U of A email account.  If you haven’t already created your account, get it done NOW.  The Bursar, Office of Student Financial Aid, your Advisors and the Registrar will only be contacting you through this email.  If you are like most of us and have more than one email account, you can always forward your U of A email to your most used account.

·         This is your degree.  Take an active role by communicating any questions or concerns to either your Faculty Advisor or your General Education Advisor.  Prepare for your appointment by pulling your SAPR (Student Academic Progress Report) and bringing it to your appointment.  You can avoid problems near the end of your program by monitoring your SAPR when you register and when you complete the term.

·         Use the resources we have provided for you.  Check out what the Media Tech Office has to make your presentations memorable.  Trouble with D2L or Moodle?  See Brian or Matt in the Learning Resource Center for assistance.  Need books or research materials for your class?  UA South students can order these, free of charge through the SABIO system.  You’ll need your Cat Card to order books or articles

Remember that you are not alone.  We are beside you every step of the way!

Thanks for the info. I can’t find a book and will try Sabio. I look forward to following your updates.
